In 2002, he became the Union Labour Minister in NDA government. As a Chief Minister of Delhi he was remembered for his campaign to change Delhi’s name to Indraprastha, as a Union Labour Minister he was remembered for his dogged refusal to let the provident fund interest rates to be brought down. He was fairly a simple man. As a Labour Minister Sahib Singh Verma strived to work for evolving a harmonious relationship between the employers and the workers. Mr Verma, asserted that the procedures to ensure better labour welfare would be simplified and red tape eliminated. |
